State of Texas Assessment of Academic Readiness (STAAR)

TEA designed the Texas English Language Proficiency Assessment System (TELPAS) to assess the progress that English language learners (ELL) make in learning the English language. ELL's in kindergarten through grade 12 are assessed in four language domains: listening, speaking, reading and writing. TELPAS reports student performance interms of four English language proficiency levels: beginning, intermediate, advanced and advanced high.

The National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) is the largest nationally representative and continuing assessment of what America's students know and can do in various subject areas.
Measure students gains in the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS). Benchmarks are administered at key points in the year designed to assess student mastery of the taught curriculum over the given time period.
